Hours: 24 hours* depending on where you park.
Trailer Parking: We have parked along a disused dead-end road: Old California 76, but space there is limited to 2-3 trailers. Alternate parking areas include Groves Open Space Preserve: 31552 Old River Rd, or if you are a member of Vista Palomar Riders club, parking is ample and trail easily accessible from here.
Horse friendly: Yes very friendly!
What to expect: You can either go up into the hills or stay along the river bed area, where you can encounter 2 water crossings, some grassy and sandy areas, and some lightly wooded areas. This trail area is quite extensive, going through Bonsall Preserve and San Luis Rey River Park. Going up the hills on the north side of Highway 76, you may have to go over some step rails, and terrain is mild-moderately hilly.
Terrain and difficulty level: Easy-to-intermediate. Water crossings can be avoided, depending on where you start from. Minimal riding near or on roads.
