Hours: 6am-6pm (October-March), 6am-7:30pm (April-September)

Trailer Parking: Yes. Park at the Pamo Valley Trailhead on Pamo Road. 

Horse-Friendly: Could be better! There were no horse-specific facilities, but they did have lots of gates accessible from horseback, as well as designated equestrian friendly trails. 

What to Expect: We had a terrible time with a large group of dirt bike riders and ATV's. There is another trail system for off-road vehicles a few miles further down the road, but they chose to all stage at the equestrian/hiking area. We could hear dirt bikes in the forested area trails where they are not allowed to be, so we chose to take a different trail that winds northeast along the dirt road. 

Terrain & difficulty: Lots of cattle gates to open and close! The terrain is mostly flat, some small hills, and a couple well-made bridges. 

There are 3 different trails to choose from. We chose an out-and-back one leading up to Black Mountain OHV (the off-road adventure area). If you go on the other trails, they link up with the Coast to Crest trail, and your ride could go on and on for miles. 

Overall Thoughts: Beautiful scenery, well maintained trails. The cattle gates were a little annoying, but necessary, as you are riding through ranch grazing land. We were able to open and close without dismounting. There were about 6-7 gates in total on the trail we did. 

Probably best to do this one on a weekday, so maybe the dirt bikers won't be revving and doing donuts right next to your trailer.
