Lake Hodges trail
Lake Hodges trail
Hours: 6am to 6 or 7:30pm; see signage below!
Trailer Parking: Yes. The dirt lot at Sikes Adobe allows for horse trailers to park, with plenty of space.
Horse-Friendly: Mildly friendly. No specific horse amenities, but horses are welcome.
What to Expect: You may encounter hikers, other equestrians, and mountain bikers. Sometimes dog walkers but not as common.
Terrain & difficulty: Coast to Crest Lake Hodges starts off flat and requires you to go under the 15 freeway. However once you hit the base of the mountain you do have more elevation to gain.
Overall Thoughts: The trail was awesome for the horses. Nice size trail with multiple options of difficulty and distance, but it is out and back, rather than a loop.
